As a huge race fan and Indiana native, everywhere you go is covered in checkered flags and everyone you talk to knows tomorrow is one of the biggest days of the year. But, every year I have to remind myself that the Indy 500 is not televised and I always ask the question, “How is it the Greatest “Spectacle” in Racing when I can’t “see” it?”.
I know, I know that’s just how it is, but this event is talked about, anticipated, planned, and my goodness, has a parade that is televised, but not the actual race.
Why not try and see if ticket sells increase or fall? Why must our whole television be filled with the pre-race festivities for about a month and then completely cut off right before the race?
I’m not trying to cause a commotion and I am a true fan. I want the best for the sport and wish it could be seen live so the fan base will grow…You have to know about something before you have the desire to experience it.
