will drive the No. 30 Toyota in 2013’s opening race at Daytona.  </p> <p>“This race is what defines NASCAR,” said Waltrip, who started 25 consecutive Daytona 500s from 1987-2011. “Even if someone isn’t a NASCAR fan, they understand what the Daytona 500 is. I like getting up for the big games, and this is a big one. I’m honored I’ll always be introduced as a Daytona 500 champion. I come here with a lot of respect for those before me who made the event what it is” <br/><br/>Waltrip will replace David Stremme, who is scheduled to drive the Swan Racing entry for the rest of the season. Stremme gave the move his blessing because he could see the rapport of Waltrip, Eury and Swan competition director Steve Hmiel. Waltrip is teaming up again with crew chief Tony Eury Jr., who was atop the pit box for him during the 2005 season at Dale Earnhardt Inc. <br/><br/>“Michael is a familiar face for a lot of us here at Swan Racing,” Eury said. “We know each other’s habits, wants and needs on the track. We’re going to Daytona to compete and hopefully we’ll make a mark for Swan Racing.”<br/><br/>Waltrip has won two Daytona 500s (2001, 2003).
